Boulder Chamber Members Invited to National CleanUp Day
BOULDER, Colo. (September 17, 2019) - From coast to coast, Americans are invited to get out and clean up parks, trails, and beaches for the third annual National CleanUp Day on Sept. 21.
Boulder Chamber of Commerce member Huck Adventures will be co-hosting a clean up in Boulder with Burton Snowboards, and all Boulder Chamber members are invited to participate. The cleanup will begin at 9 a.m. at the Burton store in Boulder and end at 12 p.m. Details are on the event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/501068124018598/.
National CleanUp Day was founded by Steve Jewett and Bill Willoughby to empower people to collaborate, better the environment, and improve their local communities. The organization expects to have over 3 million participants across all 50 states and United States territories.
This year, in addition to hosting a local cleanup, the Huck Adventures is helping their non-profit partner National CleanUp Day to track where and how much trash is collected across the country. The Huck app will feature a special welcome screen on Sept. 21 to allow anyone who downloads the app to input where and how much trash they collect. This partnership will help National CleanUp Day track clean-up efforts and empower more people to get involved in the future.
“This seemed like such a natural partnership for us since we have complementary missions,” Huck Adventures Founder/CEO Ben Nelson said. “Our community loves the outdoors, and we want to do what we can to keep it beautiful.”
After trash is collected, participants can download the Huck Adventures app in the Apple store or Google Play and enter their location and how much trash was collected.
