AI in Modern Creative Production: What Actually Works

If you work in a creative field, you've probably been told some version of two things: AI is going to replace everyone, or AI is mostly hype.

The truth is somewhere in the middle.

In this one-day class, Christian Robins, multiple Emmy Award-winning CCO and Co-Founder of post-production studio 11 Dollar Bill, and longtime post-production veteran, shares what he’s seeing firsthand as AI becomes part of real creative work across advertising, content creation, filmmaking, design, and post-production.

Drawing from 11 Dollar Bill’s real commercial projects, we’ll look at how creative teams are using AI to develop ideas, build storyboards, generate visuals, create voiceovers, localize content, explore VFX options, and move faster through production. More importantly, we’ll talk honestly about what has worked, what has not, and what happens when these tools meet real clients, real budgets, real deadlines, and real creative standards.

This is not a software training class, and you won’t need to install anything. The focus is on how to think about AI inside a creative workflow: where it can save time, where is opens up creativity, where it can screw up, and where human taste, judgment, and storytelling have a platform higher than before..

Topics include:

• AI-assisted ideation and concept development

• Storyboards, mood boards, and visual exploration

• Video generation and visual effects workflows

• AI voiceover, music, and audio tools

• Localization and content adaptation

• Client expectations, ethics, and copyright considerations

• What works, what doesn't, and lessons learned from real projects

Whether you're a filmmaker, editor, designer, producer, photographer, marketer, or content creator, you'll leave with a clearer understanding of where AI fits into modern creative production and how to use it without losing the part of the work that actually makes it good.

No prior AI experience required.

BIO:

Christian Robins is a multiple Emmy Award-winning creative, director, speaker, and post-production veteran with more than 25 years of experience across concept development, design, production, and post-production. He is the Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of 11 Dollar Bill, a creative post-production studio with offices in Boulder, Chicago, and Raleigh. His work spans live action, editorial, visual effects, motion graphics, animation, sound design, and emerging AI-assisted creative workflows.

Christian has directed numerous VFX-intensive live-action productions for national and international clients, and his collaborations include work for Manchester United, Red Bull, Adidas, Domino’s, Netflix, Kraft, Nescafé, Discovery, and many others. He combines a fine arts background with hands-on experience in generative AI, traditional post-production, visual effects, animation, and design.

In addition to his production work, Christian speaks and leads seminars on the practical use of AI in creative workflows for agencies, brands, students, and industry organizations, including Ai4, the University of Colorado, Denver University, Ad Club Colorado, and The One Club for Creativity. He has served on the Board of Directors for Ad Club Colorado and the University of Colorado Boulder Leadership Program, and is active in local creative education through BVSD’s Apex Film and Video Advisory Committee.
