Attention all food lovers and folks who work in the food world!

We grow it. We buy it. We eat it. We waste it. Food, the stuff that satisfies our fundamental human need for sustenance, is anything but basic. We're drawn to food not only for the critical nutrition and gustatory delights it can provide, but because it can be a form of cultural expression, a conduit for connection and care, and increasingly, a tool for changing how humans relate to and impact the environment. We're living in a time that is both ripe for innovation and community connectedness around food. Inspiring examples of sustainable food visioning and practice abound right here in the Front Range.

Join us for a delicious dialogue that will span and connect sustainable agriculture, investment in food enterprises, and local food policy.  You’ll hear from professionals who work to solve issues of impaired and inequitable food access and to support the evolution of food systems that are, at once, just and sustainable. Our panelists will offer their diverse perspectives on how to catalyze food system transformation and provide examples of how to chart your career course as a change maker in or adjacent to the world of food. The panel will be moderated by MENV's Sustainable Food Systems Lead, Nicole Civita.

     Amy Moore-Shipley, Operations Director, Denver Food Rescue
     Anne Misak, Healthy Food Program Manager, Colorado Enterprise Fund
     Damien Thompson, Professor, Regis University
     Fatuma Emmad, Co-Founder of Front Line Farming

Attendees will include MENV students, alumni, staff, faculty, and advisory board members, local professionals, prospective students, and the Leeds School of Business' Organics and Naturals Club members. 

Food/Drink: Heavy plant-forward hors d'oeuvres will be provided. Cash bar.
