We have on-demand contact with others at our fingertips and yet we are more divided than ever before. \n\nModerating the worldwide web has been an issue since it went mainstream big tech is walking a tightrope as the public believes they are simultaneously doing too much and not enough. Accusations of biased censorship have some Americans questioning their right to freedom of speech but what are our rights vs. platform rights? What role do ethics play in digital communication and whose ethics matter most? How does AI influence create digital echo chambers and what can we do to overcome those algorithms?\n\nJoin us for a thought-provoking Q&A with a panel of digital experts to learn more about the current state of social media and our rights and responsibilities as users. \nPanelists will include:\n\n\n Stacy Cornay\, Owner of Communication Concepts Public Relations & Advertising\n Casey Fiesler\, Assistant Professor\, Dept of Information Sciences\, CU Boulder\n Maria Garcia Berry\, Founder and Chairman of the Board\, CRL Associates \n\nAbout the panelists:\n\n\n\n\n\nStacy Cornay\n\nStacy Cornay\, the owner and founder of Communication Concepts Public Relations & Advertising\, has an extensive background in public relations and marketing\, as well as for- profit and non-profit organizations.\n\n\n\nIn 1994\, she founded Communication Concepts Public Relations & Advertising in Boulder County.\n\n\n\nThe business focuses on developing and implementing effective\, custom communication planning and strategies for organizations\, businesses and individuals. Clients include many businesses and organizations throughout the Front Range. \n\n\n\nFor the past 18 years\, Stacy has authored a monthly column in the Longmont Daily Times-Call and Boulder Daily Camera concerning communication issues. \n\nShe has received numerous awards in recognition of her work as well as awards for community involvement and leadership.\n\n\n\n\n\nCasey Fiesler\n\nCasey Fiesler is an assistant professor in the Department of Information Science at CU Boulder\, where she also holds affiliations with Computer Science and the Silicon Flatirons Center for Law\, Technology\, and Entrepreneurship. She researches and teaches largely in the areas of technology ethics and policy\, and online communities. She has a PhD in Human-Centered Computing from Georgia Tech and a JD from Vanderbilt Law School.\n\n\n\n\n\nMaria Garcia Berry\n\nMaria Garcia Berry is the founding partner of CRL Associates. She launched the firm in Denver in 1981\, establishing CRL with a commitment to strategic\, insightful government and public affairs.\n\nMaria is well known for her ability to navigate complex issues\, many never-before-encountered in the rapidly evolving economies in which we work\, always striving to find a productive solution that benefits each party involved. She has represented many CRL clients for more than two decades\, thanks to her strong ability to connect with her clients' vision\, strategically focused ahead of their organizational challenges along the way. Her reputation extends well beyond her home State of Colorado\, often invited to consult and present on topics such as public transit development and creative public-private partnership building.\n\nWith a personal passion for mentorship and entrepreneurship in her hometown\, Maria is also highly active in the Cuban American communities in Denver and across the country.
