Job Title 

Marketing Intern 

Reports To 

Director of Marketing and Events 

FLSA

Function 

Work closely with the Marketing Director, Events Manager, and Social Media Manager to support their projects. The Marketing Team works closely with the rest of the chamber arms to bring to life their projects. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the economic, local, transportation, advocacy, and membership teams to enhance their projects!  

Responsibilities

Marketing and Communications  

  • Event Management (ChamberMaster): Work closely to create events, add attendees, and manage attributes for our networking and signature events such as prior emails, post emails, document and discussion sharing, and more!  

  • Event Support: At some of the bigger events, support set up, event items, networking, and more day-of! 

Video Editing 

  • Utilizing Video Editing Software (Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, iMovie, Canva) to enhance, create, and edit videos 

  • Create Hybrid Event Animations: For our events that are also livestreamed, you will work to create animations, videos, PowerPoints, and more to enhance the online experience 

  • Ex: Chamber Chat Series: Create Monthly videos of conversations between President John Tayer and business leaders optimized for YouTube, Socials, and more!  

  • Ex: Event Credit Videos: For our online streamers, create event videos to share with them during the livestream such as a credits video! 

Design 

  • Creatively Design Event Flyers, Programs, Video Assets, PowerPoints, Templates, utilizing Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, and  Photoshop within the Boulder Chamber Brand Guidelines 

Social Media 

  • Online Social Media Platform Management: Work with software such as eClincher to create posts 

Other Duties 

  • WordPress Blog Posts – Post to the Boulder Chamber Website on a biweekly basis 

  • AirTable Management  - Work closely with our Tech Team to create new AirTable Automations, test our new software, and work closely with our team to ensure they have the resources to succeed.  

Education 

Pursing an undergraduate degree in a similar or related field 

Experience 

Experience with Technology, Design, and Communication 

Skills and Abilities

Preferred 

Writing – Excellent ability to generate original content as well as provide editing of content from subject matter experts in a timely fashion.  Strong grammar and attention to detail. 

 

Graphic Design – Ability to create and use graphics, typography, graphs and images to communicate an idea for use on websites or in print. 

   

Organization and Multi-tasking - Be able to organize in a thorough and detail-oriented way to carry out various tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet multiple deadlines. 

 

Public Relations – knowledge of strategic communications approaches, proactive and reactive, and local channels in support of maintaining and cultivating the organization’s public image 

 

Must be able to interact well with others, and support Boulder Chamber’s priorities around diversity and inclusivity 

  • Strong customer service and communication skills 

  • Ability to work as part of the Boulder Chamber team, including management of marketing team members 

  • Bilingual/bicultural applicants encouraged 

 

Must be comfortable using technology and learning new systems 

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook 

  • Strong skills in Adobe Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, and Canva (Adobe Express) 

  • Proficient in WordPress and Constant Contact or similar platforms, as well as basic knowledge of SEO 

  • Proficient in social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram 

  • Proficient or willing to become proficient in various databases, contact management, event management, customer support and content management software and systems used by the Boulder Chamber  

Must be able to work efficiently and effectively 

  • Accurate, thorough, and detail-oriented 

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment 

  • Must be able to carry out various tasks and meet multiple deadlines

Working Conditions 

In office environment - approximately 15-20 hours/week

Typical Physical Demands 

Operate normal business office equipment.  Must be able to travel efficiently to off-site meeting locations throughout the Boulder area.   

Compensation 

$13.50/hr depending on experience
