Job Title

Member Development Specialist

Reports To

Director of Member Relations

FLSA

40 hours a week full time salary + commission position

Function

Responsible for revenue generating activities within the Member Relations Department. 

Responsibilities

 
Membership sales

  • Focus on soliciting and executing membership sales to meet and exceed established member goals

  • Engage with potential new members in person, by phone and email

  • Educate businesses on the benefits of Boulder Chamber membership.

  • Meet weekly with Member Relations Director

  • Attend networking events

 
Sponsorship Sales

  • Partner with the Member Relations Director to bring in new sponsorship for chamber events and programs

 
Advertising Sales

  • Engage with members to provide digital and print solutions for a Members marketing needs

 
Database management

  • Manage prospective members in our CRM

  • Verify prospective members information

 

Education

Bachelor or Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Economics or related field preferred, may substitute for experience

Experience

1+ years of experience in outside or inside sales with a good network of Boulder connections preferred, B2B sales preferred

Customer Service – Foster a positive experience amongst our members, staff, and community
 
 
Must be able to interact well with others, and support Boulder Chamber’s priorities around diversity and inclusivity

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work as part of the Boulder Chamber team, including management of supporting team members

  • Bilingual/bicultural applicants encouraged

 
Must be comfortable using technology and learning new systems

  • Proficient in Microsoft office products

  • Proficient in importing, exporting, creating, and manipulating various documents within Google Drive

  • Proficient or willing to become proficient in various database, contact management, event management, customer support and content management software and systems used by the Boulder Chamber

 
Must be able to work efficiently and effectively

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Must have a high level of accountability

  • Accurate, thorough and detail-oriented

  • Motivated by success

 

Working Conditions

Position is on a hybrid schedule but will require flexibility to work occasional early morning and evening hours for meetings and events

Typical Physical Demands

Operate normal business office equipment.  Must be able to travel efficiently to off-site meeting locations throughout the Boulder area.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Compensation

$30k-35K Salary + Commission + Bonus Opportunity
