Boulder, Colo., Feb. 1, 2021 – Twenty Ninth Street, part of the Macerich (NYSE:MAC) portfolio of one-of-a-kind retail properties in top markets, today detailed key successes in 2020 and looks ahead to introducing more new stores, new experiences in 2021.
Despite last year’s challenges stemming from the pandemic, Twenty Ninth Street in 2020 successfully opened a number of new stores and restaurants, including Warby Parker, Madison Reed, Amazon 4-star, lululemon’s newly expanded store, Whole Sol Blend Bar, and Zoom+Care.
“As the retail industry evolves, Twenty Ninth Street continues to be a must-have location for successful retailers, restaurants and brands,” said Boyd Hamilton, Senior Property Manager, Twenty Ninth Street. “Retailers continue to tell us, and show us by signing leases, that they don’t have to be in every center – just the best centers. And Twenty Ninth Street is certainly one of the very best.”
This holiday season, Twenty Ninth Street and its retailers responded with more ways for people to tailor their in-person shopping experiences. Last year saw expanded property hours, more curbside pickup and dining takeout, more buy online pick up in store (BOPIS), and more stores offering shopping by appointment.
“We met the incredible demands of 2020 with best-in-class hygiene and safety protocols, and by providing people with more ways to shop to meet their preferences,” said Hamilton. “Trends that accelerated last year, including curbside pickup and BOPIS, are definitely here to stay. Twenty Ninth Street is on track to introduce an exciting range of new stores in 2021 that people will be able to shop their way.”
Building on the momentum of 2020, Twenty Ninth Street is slated to open more new stores and restaurants, including Shake Shack, Birdcall and Rakkan Ramen.
Twenty Ninth Street also supported the community last year with hosting A Precious Gift in partnership with retailer Lizard Thicket to benefit A Precious Child, as well as hosting numerous, complimentary outdoor fitness classes for local residents in partnership with retailers Colorado Athletic Club, Orangetheory and Pure Barre.
Twenty Ninth Street is a premier outdoor shopping center in the heart of Boulder, CO, offering a distinct retailer mix of more than 70 stores, restaurants and entertainment options, including Altar’d State, Amazon 4-star, Anthropologie, Apple, Bonobos, Drybar, lululemon, Madewell, Moosejaw, Sephora, Warby Parker, Colorado Athletic Club, Century Boulder Theatres, Wonder Wonder, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, Chipotle, Crumbl, Modern Market, motomaki, Panera Bread and Whole Sol Blend Bar.
