Motus Theater 's Youth Behind & Beyond Bars at the Colorado Capitol

This bipartisan event, hosted by Sen. Judy Amabile and Rep. Rick Taggert and co-hosted by CO Reps. Lorena Garcia, Karen McCormick, Gretchen Rydin, and Naquetta Ricks and more… invites lawmakers and advocates from our district to hear the lived experience of people incarcerated in Colorado as children. It engages directly with the long-term impacts of youth incarceration, and the possibilities created when policy invests in prevention, healing, and community-based solutions. Colorado District Attorney Michael Dougherty will join the event to read the story of a man incarcerated in the adult system as a child.
