What do you know about Human Trafficking in Boulder County

Description

As Boulder prepares to welcome the Sundance Film Festival in January 2027, increased visitor activity may create added vulnerabilities to exploitation across hospitality, retail, transportation and other local industries. Local businesses will play an important role in creating a safe and welcoming community for visitors and residents alike. Join the Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking (LCHT) in collaboration with the Boulder District Attorney’s Office for a practical training on recognizing and responding to sex and labor trafficking in your community.

The training is designed for business owners, managers, and staff in hotels and short-term rentals, food service, retail, beauty, arts and entertainment, and transportation. This session will explore how exploitation can occur across industries, potential warning signs, and how to respond safely and appropriately. Participants will gain practical knowledge and learn about local resources to help support individuals experiencing exploitation.
