Event Description:

Cannabis and Philanthropy: A Nonprofit's Guide to Partnerships
Ever wondered about accepting donations from the cannabis sector? With Colorado's marijuana industry generating $1.5 billion annually, many cannabis companies are eager to invest in the well-being of their communities through philanthropic contributions.

For nonprofits, this presents unique opportunities—and challenges. How do you gain board approval for such funding? What types of causes are most appealing to cannabis businesses? And what legal or ethical considerations come into play when partnering with this industry?

Join us for a dynamic panel discussion featuring nonprofit leaders, and representatives from the cannabis industry. Together, we’ll explore strategies for fostering impactful partnerships, addressing board and community concerns, and navigating the legal landscape of cannabis donations. Bring your questions, and leave with actionable insights!

Panel:

Christian Castaneda, Program Coordinator, Social Venture Partners - Moderator
Debbie Kunz, Director of Bal Swan Children’s Center
Kaylyn Fern, Senior Community Impact Manager, Wana Brands & The Wana Brands Foundation
