Description

When: July 15th, 4:00- 5:30 pm

Where: The Boulder Chamber

WhatJoin the Boulder Chamber and Boulder Chamber Transportation Connections for a policy discussion on transportation in our community. We will hear transportation updates from local and regional leaders addressing multi-modal transportation options, commuter safety, transportation funding, and transit availability.

Our panel for the evening includes:

  • Matt Frommer, transportation and land use policy manager, Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP). Mr. Frommer will discuss the potential funding opportunities and policy implementation of SB24-230: Oil & Gas Production Fees.
  • Frank Bruno, chief executive officer, Via Mobility Services. Mr. Bruno will speak about mobility needs and options in the Boulder area and how private contractors such as Via are planning to use new funding for local transit services.
  • Karl Guiler, senior policy advisor, City of Boulder. Mr. Guiler will illustrate the city's approach to integrating the requirements of HB24-1313, Housing in Transit-Oriented Communities.

We will also hear from our own Boulder Chamber Transportation Connections, Boulder’s Transportation Management Organization (TMO), about the extension of the Alternative Transportation State Tax Credit through HB24-1036, as well as hopes for the future legislation during the interim of 2024.

We encourage our members to participate in this roundtable and to learn about options for employers to provide sustainable transportation for their employees.

Why: To inform the business community on sustainable transportation options and discuss how transportation policy positively impacts our community.
