The Business Women’s Leadership Group (BWLG) has been bringing together Boulder’s community of businesswomen for twenty eight years as we work to provide education, networking, leadership and recognition in the community. We are an organization that is still growing and listening to our members – so please join the conversation so we can make Boulder a better place together!


We are so excited to bring you a panel discussion on May 16th tackling the topic of Mentoring, Mentors, and Mentees. We will be telling the story and asking the hard questions from different perspectives and people in each of these three categories. Please join us at The Bradley Boulder Inn from 10 AM – 12 PM. 

Panelists:

Sally ForesterAssociate Director of Leeds Undergraduate Mentoring Programs at the Leeds School of Business

Sally Forester serves as the Associate Director of Leeds Undergraduate Mentoring Programs at the Leeds School of Business.  Sally joined the Leeds School in 2008. To date, she has matched more than 8500+ undergraduate students to peers, young alumni, and professional mentors to enhance their professional and personal development.  Sally has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Skidmore College and a Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Denver.  In her time off you can find Sally hiking in the mountains with her dog Leni, traveling the world with her daughters and friends, and seeing live music!

Hailee Settlemoir - Student, peer mentor, mentee, Program Coordinator for Leeds Mentoring Program

Hailee Settlemoir is a current senior at the Leeds School of Business studying Management, with a double emphasis in social responsibility and sustainability, as well as leadership. She will graduate in May of 2024. Hailee is currently working as the student employee Program Coordinator within the Leeds Mentoring Program, and has been a member of the Peer to Peer Mentoring Exec Board since 2021. To date, she has had 6 peer mentees, as well as two mentors through the Leeds YAM and PMP Mentoring Program. Hailee is passionate about nonprofit work, and has worked with many nonprofit organizations, including Thorne Nature Experience and Spark the Change Colorado.

Donna Basden - CEO, Boulder Medical Center

Donna Basden is the first female CEO in Boulder Medical Center’s history, which spans over 70 years. “We are thrilled that Donna is taking on this leadership role. She shares the Board’s vision to help BMC maintain its independence and meet the health care needs in our community for the long term,” Dr. Bright Hoffmeyer said.

As an experienced business leader, Donna joined BMC on April 4, 2022, succeeding Interim CEO, Mindy Markley, who retired. Donna brings over 30 years of experience in the health care field in acute and ambulatory care settings across complex academic, not-for-profit, and for-profit environments. Prior to BMC, she served as the Chief Operating Officer of Lovelace Medical Group at Lovelace Health System in New Mexico.

“It is an honor to join Boulder Medical Center, an organization committed to improving the health and well-being of the citizens in our community,” Donna said. “BMC’s commitment to patient-centered care is more than words. I have witnessed a consistent theme in the way care decisions are made and care is delivered throughout the organization. Everyone is enthusiastic about doing the right thing for our patients. I am passionate about caring for people and am thrilled to partner with an organization that aligns with my values.”

Brian Wood succeeds Stu Schwartz, who retired as CFO after more than 32 years. Brian is a seasoned health care finance professional who comes to BMC from Revere Health, a large, independent multi-specialty medical group in Utah. He assumed CFO duties on February 16, 2022.

“I joined Boulder Medical Center because the physicians and staff are a community-focused, independent, multi-specialty group that strives to deliver quality care for their patients,” he said. “It is a privilege to be part of an organization that has been trusted in this community since 1949.”

Walt Morgan - Leadership Coach, Translational Lift Coaching

Walt Morgan is a leadership coach and the founder of Translational Lift Coaching. 

He helps his clients get unstuck so they feel more in control and empowered to make the impact they would like to make through their lives.

He is a professionally certified Integral Coach, focused on the embodiment of new ways of being, often leveraging somatic, interpersonal, emotional, and even spiritual avenues to human development.  Though primarily focused on executives, his clients represent multiple walks of life, from the C-Suite and business owners to middle management and the curious and the seekers.  

Walt’s history of service includes 23-years in the U.S. Navy as a helicopter pilot; he completed five deployments to combat zones and retired at the rank of Commander in 2016.  

After military service, Walt felt deeply called to serve through leadership development.  He joined a Fortune 200 healthcare company as a full-time leadership coach and facilitator before forming Translational Lift Coaching in 2019.  

In his spare time, Walt teaches leadership courses at the University of Colorado and serves on the Executive Committee for the CU Center for Leadership; he also founded a leadership coaching program for CU students.  His recreational passion is backcountry fly fishing, and he additionally enjoys skiing and mountain biking.  He lives on The Hill in Boulder with his wife, their two teenagers and Hank the dog.

Cynthia Case - Relationship Manager at Alpine Bank

Cynthia Case is a Boulder native who is known in the community as an encourager and connector, working to make an impact in the lives of those she touches.  She started working for Alpine Bank in 2018, as they built a new branch in Boulder, and currently holds the position of Relationship Manager.  Cynthia completed her two degrees, Operations Management and Marketing, from the University of Colorado Boulder along with a Minor in Entrepreneurship.  The combination of these degrees and her application of these skill sets across multiple industries (Telecommunications, Transportation, Higher Education, and Business Consulting) has given her the ability to connect with the community and their business needs in a deeper way.  She has held various committee, board, and volunteer roles in the community over the past five years and is currently the Chair Emeritus for the Business Women’s Leadership Group with the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Ambassador, and Board Member for My Wealth Being.  When Cynthia is not in her office or out in the community, she enjoys spending time with her three beautiful sisters and dear Mother, talking with friends, knitting, cooking, making home products, and being inspired by the intense beauty and order of the cosmos.
