Schedule:
Monday 8:45am-5:30pm with an at least a 30 min lunch break between 12:00pm-1:00pm Thursday 8:45am-5:30pm with an at least a 30 min lunch break between 12:00pm-1:00pm Friday 12:45-5:30pm
Hourly Wage:
$16/hour

Specific Duties:
- Work with medical providers and staff to ensure that patients obtain the highest standard of healthcare
- Provide excellent and respectful customer service; help all patients to feel welcome and comfortable
- Follow procedures for the EMR system: keep up with tasks and messages, maintain and update patient records appropriately, name and categorize documents
- Obtain insurance information from patients and enter it into their charts accurately. Verify insurance information by communicating with insurance companies
- Educate patients on office policies and procedures
- Adhere to all standards, protocols, and laws surrounding patient confidentiality
- Call and inform patients of lab and imaging results and relay other messages to patients as directed
- Answer phones and help callers in a professional manner
- Send and respond to text messages using our confidential messaging system
- Send and respond to email messages using our front desk email
- Run patient payments
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies
- Assist with other administrative tasks, such as:
- Obtaining/preparing release of records
- Communicating with other medical offices
- Scheduling patients, answering phones, insurance verification, maintain office supply inventory
Qualifications:
- Possess empathy toward the needs of others. Able to work well with patient
- Detail oriented
- Able to accurately document required information clearly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexibility to learn new skills and tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Comfortable working with the LGBTQIA+ population.
Random drug testing and background checks may be conducted.
Other Commitments:
This is an apprenticeship position, which requires the completion of specific coursework in a Front Range Community College program.
Completing the full 26 credit MA certificate at the college in a condensed 20 weeks. It’s a combination of:
- Online course (20 weeks) and covers a total of 5 classes. Requires about 10 hours per week of time.
- Saturday labs involved from 9-noon for this online course. Some Saturdays are in person, most are virtual.
- Comes to campus one day per week for the first 10 weeks of the program for the lab and clinical skills classes to learn hands-on skills like EKG, blood pressure, injections, etc.
- While taking classes the apprentice also works according to the schedule set with the employer.
- Sits for their certification exam to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, with the goal of then continuing at the employer in a certified role.
- Classes would run August 2025 - January 2026 for apprentices hired in this model
- Tuition Cost is about $4600, but there are funding opportunities
