Social Media and Marketing Intern

About Us:
Mindful Works is a nonprofit, employment social enterprise located in Boulder, CO. We provide supportive paid work opportunities, job training, and personal development to individuals overcoming barriers to employment, including mental health challenges, probation, and homelessness. Through our sewing shop and baking program, participants create beautiful, handcrafted goods — including meditation cushions, home décor, dog treats, and baked goods — that support mental health recovery and workforce re-entry.

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Social Media and Marketing Intern to help tell the Mindful Works story, build brand awareness, and create compelling content across digital platforms. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about social impact, storytelling, and design to join a mission-driven organization and contribute to real community change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging digital content (photos, videos, graphics, captions) for social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and our website
  • Assist with brand development and visual storytelling through creative design projects
  • Design marketing materials such as flyers, event invitations, newsletters, signage, and digital ads
  • Photograph and edit images of products, events, and behind-the-scenes workshops
  • Help manage and grow Mindful Works’ social media presence by planning and scheduling posts
  • Collaborate with the team to support campaigns, promotions, and product launches
  • Maintain consistency with Mindful Works’ brand voice, tone, and style guidelines
  • Occasionally support light event marketing or in-person photo documentation at pop-ups or markets (optional but preferred)

Qualifications:

  • Strong skills in graphic design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite preferred)
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging captions and posts
  • Experience with social media platforms, content creation, and basic photography/videography
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail
  • Passion for social impact, mental health awareness, and community development
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines
  • Basic familiarity with website editing (e.g., WordPress) is a plus but not required
  • Bonus if you have experience with ConstantContact

Details:

  • 8–12 hours/week
  • This is a paid position, with an hourly range of $18–$22/hour, depending on experience
  • Flexible schedule (some daytime availability preferred for event documentation)
  • Internship can be tailored for course credit if needed

Why Join Us? At Mindful Works, your creativity will have a direct, positive impact. You'll have the opportunity to build a meaningful portfolio, gain real-world experience in nonprofit communications and branding, and contribute to an organization making a tangible difference in the Boulder community.
