Contract

Store Manager for Nude Foods' Boulder and North Boulder Locations

Location: Boulder, CO
Reports to: CEO
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $24-35/hr dependent on experience + 40% off groceries

Nude Foods Market is not your typical grocery store—we’re a bold, mission-driven startup revolutionizing how people shop. We deliver local, organic groceries and meals in zero-waste, reusable containers, and operate storefronts in Boulder and Denver. We’re looking for a Boulder and North Boulder Store Manager to lead our in-store operations and bring our sustainable values to life every day. This role involves performing all retail associate duties, in addition to the managerial duties listed below.

This is a supervisory position and is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and is excited to help build something meaningful from the ground up. It’s part strategic, part hands-on—one day you’ll be leading a team meeting, the next you might be unloading a delivery or optimizing a workflow.

What the role will involve:

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the Boulder Front of House teams, fostering accountability, ownership, and high performance.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings, ensuring discussions are focused, actionable, and outcome-driven.
  • Set clear expectations for staff, delegate effectively, and follow through to ensure completion.
  • Implement structured onboarding and cross-training programs that build skills and efficiency.
  • Conduct performance reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and operational focus areas.
  • Model professional, concise communication and coach team members to do the same.
  • Communicate feedback and updates from the Back of House team and Packing/Stocking team to your Front of House teams.

Operations & Process Development

  • Identify operational challenges and implement practical improvements to improve efficiency and execution. Prevent the fires so you don’t have to put them out!
  • Lead regular management meetings, clearly articulating priorities, decisions, and follow-up actions.
  • Streamline workflows, scheduling, and communication to maximize productivity and minimize wasted time.
  • Partner closely with leadership to review store performance metrics, sales trends, labor efficiency, and operational KPIs
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, labor, and retail regulations.
  • Collaborate with Denver and North Boulder teams to ensure alignment between stores.

Customer Experience

  • Train staff to provide warm, personalized, and knowledgeable service.
  • Serve as the primary decision-maker for customer issues, resolving concerns efficiently while maintaining trust.
  • Cultivate a customer-focused culture grounded in transparency, responsiveness, and attention to detail.

Store Presentation & Merchandising

  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times. Delegate tasks to your team when you notice areas of the store that need improvement.
  • Oversee restocking, signage updates, and store layout changes with efficiency and attention to impact.
  • Maintain strong merchandising of key product categories.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You are:

  • A natural leader who inspires teams to take ownership and delivers results.
  • Exceptional communication skills — clear, concise, and professional in verbal and written interactions.
  • Ability to make informed decisions quickly, balancing operational needs with strategic priorities.
  • Calm, grounded, and solutions-oriented, thriving in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to a clean, welcoming, and customer-focused store.
  • Passionate about sustainability, local food, and making a positive impact.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role in retail, hospitality, or natural grocery.
  • Proven ability to supervise staff, lead meetings, and drive team performance.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities efficiently and making timely decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize complex topics clearly.
  • Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs and remain on your feet for long shifts.
  • Bonus points for experience in zero-waste practices, sustainable food systems, or startup environments.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 30-40 hours per week

Benefits:

  • 40% off groceries from Nude Foods Market
  • Paid Sick Leave, 1 hour for every 30 hours worked up to 48 hours per year.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) of 1 hour for every 52 hours worked up to 40 hours in Year 1 (up to 80 hours in Year 2, 120 hours in Year 4, and 160 hours in Year 6). The maximum PTO an employee can accrue at any time is the amount he/she is eligible for in that year.
  • $75 monthly allowance towards tax-deductible supplemental benefits you choose
  • 50% Employer-Matching 401(K) of up to 4% of gross wages each pay period.
