Celebrating Frida Kahlo Through the Eyes of Contemporary Artists

The late Latin American artist Frida Kahlo is one of the most iconic and influential painters in world art, her mysterious self-portraits having entered the cultural lexicon as symbols open to varying interpretations. Now, curator Ana Weir has gathered together 15 interpretations of Kahlo for a show that opens Dec. 14 and runs through Feb. 15. Titled "Frida in Their Style," the exhibition includes new paintings by a CU Theatrical Design graduate Hannah Male and young surrealist artist Arabella Snyder of Longmont.
