In March, Community Cycles’ asked candidates a series of questions for the 2026 RTD District O election, highlighting Audrey DeBarros’ and Jack Rosenthal’s positions on transit service, bicycle access, rail expansion, governance, ridership recovery, and rebuilding public trust in RTD. 

🚌 What does the RTD Board do? 

The RTD Board of Directors oversees policies, budgets, and leadership decisions that affect bus and rail service throughout the district. Decisions made by the board influence everything from service levels and route planning to how easily residents can connect biking, walking, and transit into a seamless transportation network. 

With transit funding, service levels, and regional mobility receiving increased attention across the Front Range, this election comes at an important moment for the future of transportation in our community. Recent discussions around potential service reductions in Boulder County have highlighted the importance of strong leadership and community engagement at RTD right now.
